We just hosted our Day at the Capitol event on February 3rd, and it was a tremendous success!

Over 80 attendees from across South Dakota joined us at the Capitol, and many arrived there on buses that Family Heritage Alliance chartered. Attendees had the opportunity to watch a committee meeting, go on a tour of the Capitol, meet their legislators, and hear from some incredible speakers.

We also took a picture with legislators, our Secretary of State, two of our public utility commissioners, and our Lieutenant Governor. Then we sang patriotic songs and ate lunch in the rotunda.

In the afternoon, our Summit presentations focused on The Calling, The Convictions, and The Calculations. Kristie Fiegen of the Public Utility Commission spoke to us about The Calling, which refers to what it looks like when God places it on our hearts to run. Family Heritage Alliance intern Grace Sargent gave a presentation on The Convictions, describing what it looks like to stand firm in a world that doesn’t value or recognize our morals. Lastly, Caroline Woods spoke about The Calculations, detailing how we can communicate effectively and transform hearts.

In a time when progressive ideology is threatening to control so many aspects of our lives, it’s incredibly important that everyone makes their voice heard and impacts their state as much as possible. Our Day at the Summit gives South Dakotan’s an opportunity to learn more about our local government and how they can raise their voice to stand up for Christian principles.
