Tony Perkins, June 23, 2018
On Sunday, July 1, 2018, just one week from now, believers in thousands of Churches across America will kneel in prayer for our nation in the Call2Fall. It began 10 years ago when I was stopped in my tracks by an elderly woman who challenged me to focus on prayer for our nation with greater intentionality than ever before. Since then, we’ve seen millions of Christians gather on their knees in repentant prayer. We are humbled and thankful to be part of a movement God is using to turn our nation back to Him. I want to invite you and your church to join hearts with us to pray for America on Sunday, July 1st.
Watch this short video about the first prayer of the Continental Congress. In that desperate hour of our nation’s history, the prayer moved many of our Founding Fathers to tears, and to nation-changing faith and action. As our Forefathers did in 1774 on the eve of war with Great Britain, we, too will reaffirm and declare our dependence upon God, before we and our fellow countrymen celebrate Independence Day on the 4th of July.
Pastor, please set aside a time in your Sunday, July 1, worship services to pray for our nation. Unite your church family in prayer with churches who are taking time on their knees in humble prayer for our nation. If you have not done so already you can still sign up your church at call2fall.com. Click “Host a Call2Fall.”
You can download my short video to show your Congregation tomorrow. Your people will be inspired to turn to God in prayer for America. God is eager to hear us pray in this way and He will respond. You may want to use a short video from my friend, Pastor Ronnie Floyd, President of the National Day of Prayer. He suggests going further to make the entire month of July a time of prayer. Whatever you do, may we all stand together in great expectation of a mighty move of God!
For His glory and fame,
Tony Perkins
President
